Capofoco I.G.T. Umbria

Strong, enduring, structured.

The fireplace “capofochi” of the old Umbrian farmhouses, gives the name to a wine that transmits heat, sociality and elegance. In Capofoco, Gamay del Trasimeno, belonging to the family of the Grenaches and cultivated from more than 400 years on the shores of the Trasimeno lake, is expressed at its’ most in combining with  Montepulciano, inserted again among the varieties of Madrevite in an expression typical of the enology of central Italy. Thanks to a refinement in French oak casks, Capofoco is able to develop and endure many years.
Capofoco I.G.T. Umbria is made from a mix of: Gamay del Trasimeno 50%, Montepulciano 50%.
Madrevite is propriety of the Chiucchiurlotto family, which has cultivated the grapevine for 3 generations.
